Comfortable to wear, custom-fit cotton and linen barefoot shoes. I'm satisfied! 2 points of criticism
Lanka medium clay EU 39
I bought the 2023 shoes at the end of summer. I'm very happy with the shoes. They are made from pure natural materials, a cotton-linen mix without a membrane, which is what I wanted. I had also had Wildling shoes with membranes sent to me as a comparison so that I could make a choice. Unfortunately, shoes with membranes are really much more air-tight. As a result, the shoes lose a great deal of comfort when worn. I really don't want a membrane. That's why I chose Lanka shoes without a membrane clearly and specifically.
The shoes are also easy to wear on dry days in autumn (until October, with wool socks when it's cold) and again from now on (beginning of May). They are now. When it's warm, it's best to wear. As soon as a few drops of rain fall, the shoes soak. They're not for rain, but I accept that for the unbeatable, good fit on dry days. My solution is portable rubber boots (which can be carried in a backpack) or I wear waterproof shoes on completely wet days.
These are my first Wildling barefoot shoes (I already had barefoot shoes from several other brands). The typical Wildling sole is a dream! Beautiful, sensationally thin, interesting in supporting the individual foot regions - such as running barefoot - stable and elastic.
What I also really like is the detail in the workmanship that the holes for the laces are without metal! In general, I love the workmanship of the cotton-linen outer material, as well as the workmanship of the entire shoe. Exudes care, thoughtfulness and quality for me.
I have a size 39.5 approx. I wear size 40 with other shoes. These shoes in 39 fit me like a glove, comfortable. I've rarely had such a custom-fit shoe.
I recommend measuring the foot to determine the required size and choosing the shoe size based on the result.
Now 2 more points of criticism. 1. At the point where the black, thin rubber insert is inserted into the gap on the sole, the adhesive has come off. I noticed it after washing the cloth shoes by hand with a little soap at 30 degrees (I think it's allowed here too). And carrying it back and forth. I think that's a shame, especially since the shoes aren't cheap either. I then glued the area with Allstar Gum, shoe glue, a natural adhesive.
2. Hemp flax insole. First off, I think the sole with natural flax is great! What I am criticizing is the black plastic underside of the insoles. The insoles get dirty quickly and also absorb foot odor. When you rinse it, this black underside fluff a lot from the first time. It simply looks bad and broken on the bottom. That doesn't work at all. The purpose of the underside is certainly to warm something towards the ground. But I don't like plastic here either. I would like such an insole without the black plastic underside. I then separated it from the rest of the insole, which was one act. Since everything is sewn together with the flax and hemp parts. Now the flax layer is exposed at the bottom, but so what. But I'm happy with this all-natural version of insole after the act.
If this is possible, I hope that you produce and offer even more shoes made from pure natural materials and would fully support it. In my opinion, natural materials have qualities that plastics cannot offer/replace and that are wonderful. Greetings!

Thanks for your detailed feedback Nicole! How nice that you have found a loyal and beloved companion on your adventures with Lanka medium clay and that you find this model so comfortable to wear.
What a pity that the patch on your wildlings came off easily. In such a case, you are always welcome to contact customer service - it's good that you were able to remedy the situation yourself with a natural adhesive.
You will be pleased to hear that there is now also an insole without the membrane on the underside, the so-called Hanfy pure:

We share your desire to manufacture as much as possible with natural materials and plastic-free and therefore continue to tinker and design.
Greetings from the Wildling team
