"Putting a piece of freedom into a pair of shoes and with this - literally - move something- that's what keeps me going."
Wildling founder Anna Yona

What is a minimal shoe?
At first glance, Wildlings look a little different than conventional shoes. They have a wider cut, no heel, and they’re made of particularly soft materials. Aminimum of shoe, so to speak. And that's why walking in them feels a lot like walking barefoot.
As little shoe as possible as much as necessary.

Steps our feet were made for
From a purely anatomical standpoint, we’re built to go barefoot most of the time, as demonstrated by Prof. Zech from the University of Jena and confirmed by numerous additional studies. Footwear that’s too tight and has rigid soles can restrict the foot’s natural movement and lead to misalignments and posture defects, despite nature already providing our feet with everything they need for a healthy rolling movement, stability and cushioning. That is, if we let them, ideally barefoot or in as little shoe as possible, as much as necessary.
What Makes Wildlings Special
Lots of good reasons for wearing Wildlings can be found here, and the great feeling of walking in them isn’t their only special feature. They also have properties that are way ahead of conventional shoes in terms of foot health. Plus, it seems that more often than not, slipping into Wildlings brings a big smile.

Wide Toe Box
When we look at a foot we see that the widest part is at the forefoot and toes. The wide toe box in Wildlings provides ample space for the foot to maintain its natural shape and roll with the entire foot and balls of the feet. This can help prevent common posture problems or alleviate foot pain. In contrast, conventional shoes are often too tight precisely in the toe area, making them a poor fit for the anatomical shape of our feet.

A Minimum of Shoe Makes It Barely Noticeable
Thanks to the carefully selected materials used in making them, Wildlings have a supple feel, almost like a second skin. Farewell to blisters and pressure points caused by stiff shoes. They are also very light, and therefore a pleasure to wear. This light weight reduces the energy we have to put into walking, literally making each step more light-footed.

Unique and Flexible Sole
The sole is the very heart of Wildlings and there are different sole options to meet the wearer’s particular needs. Thanks to its special design and a thickness of just 2 to 3.5 millimetres, it offers us the greatest possible freedom of movement and connects us with the ground beneath our feet. The great flexibility of the soles allows the arch of the foot to bend and stretch, strengthening its stability as a weight and cushioning mechanism, just as nature intended.
Mindfulness Begins at Our Feet
Instead of constricting our feet, minimal shoes enable them to retain their natural strength and agility. And that can make a positive difference to our overall physical wellbeing. Minimal steps, allowing us to more consciously feel a sense of ourselves and our environment. #ThatWildingFeeling
